We're so excited to be serving dinner to unhoused neighbors with the folks from Helping Hands of Georgetown! Helping Hands partners with local groups, organizations, and people to serve hot meals every Sunday, and we're joining them for our Serve Sunday (every fifth Sunday) on August 30th). You can come solo, with one or two others, and even bring kids! Everyone is welcome to help serve, and interact with the neighbors, but please make sure that you have a supervision plan for your younger kiddos if they're coming. We'll be providing a meal for 30-60 people (think pizza, pasta, something that can feed a large group! You can contribute financially, or practically), need to provide drinks, and to-go style plates for the neighbors! In your registration, you'll be able to indicate how you're planning to participate. Every month we get together on the Thursday before the first Sunday (Feed Your Soul Sunday). Confusing enough 🤪? This is an opportunity for us to spend time enjoying a meal and each other's company. Something we don't always have the time to stop for on Sunday mornings! Our thursday dinner for September is being hosted by Sienna Matthys (address available upon registration) and will feature chicken and veggie enchiladas, so please sign up to bring a side that will go well with that. Feed Your Soul Sunday is the first Sunday of every month at Peace of Christ Church. This is part of our rhythm to promote rest in the lives of our Community Participants. We encourage you to spend the day relaxing, hiking, out to brunch - whatever will feed your soul!
