Metamorphosis Cohort
METAMORPHOSIS is a cohort of individuals joining together to share companionship, inspiration, and soul-nourishment on the ever-evolving journey of faith and spirituality. We’ll examine what it means to practice a version of Christianity that energizes us, is relevant and truthful, and extends hospitality to all of creation.
This six-week group will meet on Tuesday evenings from April 29 - June 3 to learn, discuss, share stories, grow, and celebrate ongoing change. Change is life, and we honor the metamorphosis.
So many of us have felt lost and lonely as we have deconstructed the faith we were raised in, and we hope that this space will offer resources and camaraderie to participants who are on this journey of not just letting go, but of thriving and reimagining. Whether you are new or old to our community, we invite you to consider joining us.
Meetings will be co-led by Revs. Jana Muñoz and Aurelia Dávila Pratt on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm in Cedar Park. Details:
April 29: The Egg (Imago Dei, belovedness, embodiment, inner authority, intuition, spiritual practices)
May 6: The Caterpillar (Biblical interpretation and hermeneutics)
May 13: The Cocoon (the dark night of the soul; inner transformation, true self, salvation and sin, heaven, hell)
May 20: The Emergence (New eyes, new creation, decolonizing, non-hierarchy, liberating our theology)
May 27: The Migration (beloved community, envisioning heaven on earth, shared work, worship, liturgy)
June 3: Wrap-up / Process dinner
This cohort involves an application process. We have found that setting this boundary around this space has contributed to an incredibly deep bonding experience for those who participate.
Applications will be accepted until April 21st.
We are looking for applicants who are:
- Sincere spiritual seekers
- Theologically curious
- Committed to nurturing spiritual companionship
- Willing to examine their assumptions, beliefs, and patterns, and open to new ways of being and thinking
- Willing to read for around an hour each week in preparation for meetings
- Able to commit to attending all meetings
In order for the group's time together as rich as possible, some preparation is necessary prior to each meeting. An informal syllabus will be provided before the first meeting. We will never tell you what to think; rather, we hope to inspire your curiosity and give you fuel for your own METAMORPHOSIS.
We do not recommend that cohabitating couples both apply at the same time. Instead, we invite couples to help each other carve out uninterrupted space for this experience. There will be future opportunities to participate in this cohort.
