A Liturgy For The Lowly

I will not be intimidated by or envious of people who prosper by doing evil things,

because I know they will soon be as the season of the sticks.

I will trust in God, and do good things in the land where I live.

I find joy in knowing that God sees my longing to bring the kin-dom of heaven to earth.

We commit to your love God, and trust you will act in love for all people.

God, I know your integrity and truth will be as bright as the light of a thousand stars.

I will be still and wait patiently on God; I will grieve and not brood over people who gain power, money, and position by stepping on those below them.

My anger will not make me stoop to their level of wrongdoing and corruption,

because I remember they will soon fall away; those who live by the example you provide will come out on top.

We commit to your love God, and trust you will act in love for all people.

I know that rulers who idolize power will be consumed by it from the inside out, and those who have needed their shelter will be unsafe without it.

Gentle people will be raised up by you and given all they need,

for the true spirit of God is a safe place for the gentle in times of fear, strife, and terror;

they will be saved from the oligarchs, dictators, gangsters, masters, and kings by the God who hears their pleading.

We commit to your love God, and trust you will act in love for all people.
